Our namesake is the composer who continues to influence the city's cultural life, even extending to the music education in our school. Since its founding in 1910, the school's educational focus has evolved, gradually expanding, which is evident in the architectural diversity of the buildings. We consider ourselves a modern high school with a future-oriented perspective. We are open to change and actively respond to societal developments. Our core values of justice and ecological awareness are central to us, and we view the school as a shared path into the world.
As a European School, we are internationally connected, promoting the global outlook of our students. In our classes, we incorporate European scientific and cultural history as well as current European topics. Through exchange projects and the European Youth Parliament, we nurture the maturity and democratic capabilities of our students. The Carl-Maria-von-Weber-Schule prides itself on being a STEM-friendly school, offering a corresponding curriculum. We foster the mathematical and scientific education of all students, from regular classes in subjects like mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, and informatics from grade 5 to graduation. This is supplemented by support through extracurricular activities and projects.

Gymnasium im Loekamp
The 'Gymnasium im Loekamp', has about 800 students in classes from grade 5 up to level Q2 (grade 13) and 75 teachers. It is a full-time municipal school of the industrial city of Marl with about 85.000 inhabitants, located at the north rim of the Ruhr-area in Germany. The aim of our school is to prepare students for the general university entrance qualification. The school offers qualified and individually supportive subject lessons, versatile challenging talent offers and stands for social, respectful and friendly commonality. The school is repeatedly awarded for its STEM-activities and its consistent development. Computer science is compulsory subject for our students in grades 5/6. From grade 7 to level Q2 (grade 13) it is an elective subject. There is also the 'Junior Engineering Academy' as a technical elective in grades 9/10. Additional STEM working groups are offered, e.g. robotics and programming. The school actively encourages participation in STEM competitions. OCA is a small private school of about two hundred and fifty students, ranging from grades K-4 to 12th, located in the city of Orangeburg in the Midlands region of South Carolina. We have served this area for 25 years. Our school colors are navy blue and gold and our mascot is the Patriot. We have an active sports program consisting of volleyball, football, basketball, baseball, softball, and cheerleading.
OCA’s small school feel works well for students and staff and we try to make everyone feel welcome here. With the classes being so small the students also get one on one attention with the teachers. We have many students that start here in K-4 and stay through high school, giving us a real family atmosphere.
Our school has been experiencing growth over the past few years and we have had some exciting projects that we’ve been a part of. Last year’s 7th grade class won a state award in the Plant the Moon Challenge, growing pea plants in lunar regolith simulant. Our upper school has recently started a school garden and we are currently growing squash, peas, and carrots. Of course, we are most excited about our upcoming ARISS contact and have been enjoying learning about amateur radio and the ISS!

Students First Names & Questions:
1.
