    School Information:
Our school is Conn Magnet Elementary School of Entrepreneurial Design, located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Founded in 1955, Conn is proud to be the first Entrepreneurial Design Magnet School in North Carolina. At Conn, we learn to think like designers and innovators through our Entrepreneur IDEAS Design Cycle, Identify, Develop, Execute, Assess, and Share. We use our IDEAS Cycle in all learning spaces and in specials as we learn and problem solve.
We participate in exciting micro design challenges, where creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking come together to solve real-world problems. Whether it’s designing innovations with 3D printers, growing herbs and vegetables, including tomato seeds that were on the International Space Station for eight weeks, in our sustainable garden, or composting lunch trays to care for the environment, we are empowered to make a positive impact on our community.
We believe in connecting learning to the world beyond our classrooms. Through partnerships with local companies, universities, and community organizations, we have opportunities to apply our ideas in authentic, hands-on ways like designing ice cream flavors to be on sale at a neighborhood shop and creating pizzas at a local shop where our designs required DoorDash and the online ordering system to be turned off due to demand!
Conn’s excellence has been recognized nationally and locally. We have earned multiple honors as a Top Magnet School of Excellence and were ranked the second-best magnet school in the nation, celebrating our innovation, equity, and student success.
Most importantly, Conn is home to dedicated and inspiring teachers who bring learning to life every day. Together, our staff, students, and families create a vibrant, future focused learning community where every child is encouraged to dream big, design creatively, and make a difference.
